Kari Campano
After two consecutive internships in entertainment public relations, Kari Campano launched her marketing career as a publicist and special events coordinator in 1984 with a small public relations firm in California. Four years later, she entered the advertising industry at a Young and Rubicam company working in account management for clients including Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Westin Hotels and Resorts, and Suzuki Motorcycles. In 1991, Kari continued her relationship with KFC as an event planner and designer through her own company Grand Events with partners John and Carol Saunders. Today, Grand Events Los Angeles is one of the leading event planning and design firms in Southern California. Also between 1982 and 1994, Kari attended college on a part time basis and obtained her Associate of Arts degree from Los Angeles Valley College as well as her Bachelor of Arts degree with a Special Major in Event Planning and Marketing from California State University, Northridge.
Kari relocated to the east coast in 1996 to assist her husband in establishing a marketing research field service for the motion picture industry. Their firm, Matrix Alliance, coordinates private screening events throughout the east coast for many of the major studios behalf of several entertainment research firms including Nielsen NRG (National Research Group), Screen Engine, and Advanced Marketing Perspectives. In addition to working screening events, Kari also began accepting freelance marketing, PR, and event planning and design assignments in 2001 and continues today in the same capacity serving businesses and non-profit organizations throughout Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York.
